Rosalie says she really enjoys peanut butter. One way to make peanut butter even healthier is by adding Greek yogurt. Rosalie says to add one tablespoon of peanut butter and one tablespoon of Greek yogurt to a bowl of your favorite fruit. This not only makes a delicious snack but also adds to the amount of protein in your diet, which can be crucial when weight training and trying to build muscle.

Benefits of Adding Greek Yogurt to your Eating Plan

Protein. As previously mentioned Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein. Not only does protein help build muscle but it also keeps you fuller for longer. One six ounce serving of Greek yogurt has between 15-20 grams of protein compared to only 9 grams in a serving of regular yogurt.

Low Sodium and Carbohydrates. Greek yogurt contains half the serving of sodium compared to the regular variety with just 50 mg of Sodium per 6 ounce serving. It also contains a low amount of carbohydrates with only 5-8 per serving.

Probiotic. Greek yogurt contains probiotics that are really helpful in killing off Candida bacteria in our stomachs. Candida feeds off of sugar and contributes toward weight gain, fatigue and other illnesses we contract.

Versatile. Greek yogurt is an amazing tool in one’s eating repertoire due to the fact it can be used in so many different ways. You can put it in smoothies, eat it with fruit and even replace fattening high calorie substances such as cream cheese, mayonnaise, butter and oil with it. The possibilities are virtually endless!
