Six Pack Abs on the Total Gym

Six Pack Abs

Obtaining six-pack abs is something almost every fitness enthusiast strives for, especially with beach season just around the corner – everyone wants to look his or her best when wearing a bathing suit. These workous on the Total Gym will get you on your way to achieving that six-pack! Joining us once again on Total Gym Pulse is fitness trainer John Peel to show us how it’s done.

Ab Workout

Abdominal Workout

John takes us through three different exercises that will fire up the core to define the six-pack and tone your obliques. For the first exercise, get on your back on the Total Gym bench and grab the hand grips. Lift your legs straight up off the ground. Straighten your arms letting yourself all the way down. Tighten your core and bring your elbows and knees in together creating a crunching motion. This works the entire midsection, the upper, middle, and lower abdominals as well at all angles. Do approximately 15-20 reps and hold, leading into the next abdominal exercise.

From the held position, kick your legs up and down. Do this for about 30 seconds and mix it up by moving your legs side to side and crossing your feet as you move. After the 30 seconds is up move straight into the oblique exercise. Remain in the same extended position with your arms all the way out and lift your legs in the air. Bring your right knee to your right elbow then do the same for the left side. The focus is to twist to whichever side you are working with to really squeeze your obliques. After you complete these three abdominal exercises, give yourself about 30 seconds of rest and do it all over again.

Six Pack Ab Workout

This will help get rid of the “tire” around your waist and get you ready for the beach. Be prepared to be sore in your abdominals after going through this workout routine but know it is well worth it on your journey to achieving that 6 or even 8 pack!

TG Ab Workout

The last exercise that John demonstrates is a bonus workout for those who have the ab accessory attachment for their Total Gym. This exercise is great to do as a quick burnout or a final finish to your already intense abdominal workout. To begin, place your elbows on the Total Gym ab accessory and place your knees on the bench. Pull your knees up to the elbows for about 20-30 seconds or until you burnout. This is the icing on the cake to an already phenomenal ab workout. It’s going to push you to the limit but you certainly won’t regret the amazing results you will receive!

We would like to thank John Peel for showing us an incredible workout to get the six-pack we all desire for the summer. Please leave any questions or comments you may have on the ab workout below. 1. Best investment ever. Love Todd’s videos and I am very happy with my purchase! Cute trainer!

  2. I have a total gym and would like a workout video. Meaning, a video without the talking, just showing a workout from start to finish including all the reps.
