Ab Crunches vs. Core Workout

Do you remember when getting a six pack was achieved by doing repetitive abdominal crunches? In those days there wasn’t much thought given to the rest of the muscles that make up the core. Well, times have definitely changed and we have evolved in our knowledge of fitness and how important it is to incorporate a well-balanced core routine into our workout. If you want to achieve strong and sexy abs the Core Trainer Blast in the perfect piece of equipment to add to your routine.

The core is made up of many muscle groups including the rectus abdominus, the internal and external obliques, the erector spinae, the multifidus, the quadratus lumborum, and the transverse abdominus. Enough technical terminology? Simply put, the core includes everything except your arms, legs and head. It is responsible for stabilizing your torso, maintaining good posture and supporting your body throughout your daily activities. Think of this group of muscles as the trunk of a tree, full of layers and able to support the limbs.

Get Results and Avoid Injuries

It is important to perform the exercises properly to avoid injury. Concentrate on your form, engage your muscles, move slowly, and avoid using momentum in your movements. Improper form can lead to injury. If you are a beginner, start with level one and progress to the next level when you can perform 15-20 reps with great form and minimal effort.

Before you get started, take some before pics and grab a journal to keep track of your progress. Several weeks of a consistent ab routine on your Core Trainer Blast will not only get you the admirable abs you’ve been wanting, but a solid core through and through.
