How To Get A Sexy Core
Personal trainer Tiffany Savion is back to Total Gym Pulse to show us how to get a sexy core and strengthen our abdominal muscles using The Total Gym home exercise machine. There are many advantages to working on your core muscles. First, they help you in everyday acts such as putting on shoes, picking up a package or simply standing still. Next, a strong core is important for a healthy back. When back pain comes, a core strengthening routine is usually prescribed to help with back posture and strength. Finally, a strong core is important for balance and stability. The core stabilizes the body allowing you to move in a variety of directions. The stronger it is, the less likely you are to fall and lose your balance.
Tiffany starts the workout with her knees in a “Table Top” position and back on the gliding board. Make sure there is a straight line from your hips to your knees and also from your knees to your ankles. The shoulders should be relaxed with the abs engaged and belly button toward the spine. From here, extend the legs straight out in front of you and bring them back. Be sure to squeeze and contract your abdominals.
Next, raise your legs straight up in the air and lower one leg down at a time. Again, make sure your back is pressed into the glide board for the best results. You can lift one leg at a time in multiple reps or alternate them. Keep your breathing at a slow and controlled pace to circulate the maximum amount of oxygen throughout your body during the exercise.
Finally, Tiffany moves back to the “Table Top” position and extends her legs straight out one at a time. Be sure to engage your core and keep your shoulders down and away from your ears. Focus on one leg at a time then move into a reciprocal movement where both legs pass each other. Tiffany concludes the segment by saying this workout is a lot of work even for her as a personal trainer. That being said, by doing these exercises you will get an amazing workout in a matter of minutes without ever leaving your house. Just another advantage to using The Total Gym!
