Personal Trainer Workouts: John Carleo’s Advanced Biceps & Triceps Workouts
Total Gym Pulse welcomes John Carleo to the Total Gym Blog. John has been training people on the Total Gym for more than 30 years. In fact, John likes the Total Gym so much he opened a gym where he could train everyone from housewives to bodybuilders exclusively on the Total Gym. John also uses the Total Gym to prepare himself for Body Building competitions.
In this segment, John shows us how to do an advanced biceps and triceps workout. The first exercise is a reverse bicep curl. Normally one does bicep curls with the palms facing up, but John encourages the user to face the palms down for this particular bicep movement. By doing it this way, not only are you strengthening the biceps but you are also working your fingers, grip and forearms as well.
Next, John shows us a reverse grip triceps exercise. This workout is also great for the grip and forearms.
For the final exercise, John takes the cables off of the Total Gym and sits back far enough so the board is supported and not hitting the base. By doing this, he is able to work one bicep at a time without the cable assist. This makes it a lot more difficult, but will give you more power and size in the long run. John concludes the segment by stating that it won’t be long before you start seeing increases in the size of your biceps and triceps by following these advanced workout techniques on the Total Gym.
