My name is Marty and this year I will be turning 57 years old. I don’t feel 57, but when you do the math that’s the age that I come up with. 🙂
A little about myself – I have been married for 25 years and have one son. I have a full-time office job and in my past, I was a police officer. I am also a survivor of PTSD.
For long as I can remember fitness has always been a big part of my life. In the police academy, we were taught about lifetime fitness and that’s how it should be – training for your entire life! Whether it be during a regular work week, weekends, holidays, work travel or vacation travel, I always make time and schedule my workouts. Some may view that as an obsession, but fitness truly saved my life. Back in 2015, I went to my regular doctor for my annual physical and it was found that I needed immediate open-heart surgery. I didn’t have a heart attack or stroke, I just happen to have some bad genes. The surgery lasted for 8.5 hrs. and I had five (5) bypasses, one (1) closed hole and one (1) repaired valve. My doctors told me had I not been in such great physical shape, I would have probably died from a heart attack already. My workouts involve body weight, dumbbell and barbell training. The Total Gym is the perfect home exercise equipment to do gym level resistance / strength training. At my home gym, I have the XLS and FIT models. My favorite workouts to do on the Total Gym are biceps, triceps and back. You can really get a nice “pump” with the Total Gym.
