Yes. The EVOLVE is designed for strength, cardio and HIIT, Pilates, yoga, stretching, functional and mobility sessions. Resistance level, glideboard angle, body position, tempo and accessory attachments can all be changed to match the purpose of a workout.
How many exercises can you do on Total Gym EVOLVE?
Total Gym EVOLVE supports more than 100 exercises and variations. That range includes upper body, lower body, core, combination and total body movements, plus workouts built around strength, cardio and HIIT, Pilates, yoga, stretching, functional and mobility training.
Can I use Total Gym EVOLVE in a small home gym space?
The EVOLVE can work in a small home gym if the room accommodates its 97-inch operating length plus 2-foot movement clearance. It also folds back up to reduce its footprint, but the 100-pound frame is substantial; plan a dedicated home gym space where it can stay unfolded, or a nearby storage spot it can be rolled to rather than lifted.
Can I add free weights to Total Gym EVOLVE with the Weight Bar accessory?
Yes. The EVOLVE can be fitted with Total Gym’s separately sold Weight Bar, which passes through the glideboard and holds user-supplied weight plates. It is recommended to use a Total Gym Weight Bar with Clips (sold together) to secure weights during use. Add weights equally to both sides of the weight bar. Max additional weight is 90 lbs. per side while not to exceed the max weight capacity of the gym (including user's weight).
Does Total Gym EVOLVE require assembly?
No traditional assembly is required because Total Gym EVOLVE arrives as a preassembled machine. Initial use still requires unpacking it, unfolding the rails, raising and locking the vertical column, selecting the incline and inserting both safety hitch pins. The accessories included are not required for working out. They're to enhance your experience and should remain off of the gym unless instructed for a specified exercise.

The FIT, APEX G3 and XLS use conventional fixed-position glideboards that move with the incline of the rails. A new adjustable glideboard for FIT and XLS models launched in August of 2026 and is available for purchase as an after-market accessory item. It's compatible with only FIT (all versions) and XLS models. It is not compatible with APEX or other older models.
