Peddling while lying back or sitting up
It is a great addition to strengthen your core, hips, knees, and legs. I recommend the cycle for those who use to enjoy riding a bike. You can experience the same motions without falling.

Product Dissapointment
Disappointed. This is my 3rd unit. The last two I ordered were the original cyclotrainer – it tracked mileage, etc. I wasn’t able to increase resistance and there was a "clunking" noise that came with each active pedal. This occured with both units.
This current unit (cyclotrainer – 2) makes the same racket when pedaling. At least the intensity can be increased.
It is also frustrating to call the "support/service" phone number and hear it automatically disconnect. It’s also sad to see the products being made outside the United States.
The question is – will you actually read this review and do something about the problem or ignore it.

Poor quality
I received it a couple of weeks ago and had a little trouble with the screws, but not a deal breaker. Then after 1-2 nights of use it started making a grinding noise. Customer service was awesome when I contacted them and sent me a replacement. Received it today and it was easier to assemble so that was great. Started using it and after about 5-10 minutes it started making a “thumping noise”. So I traded one noise for another noise. Just send another email so will see what happens now

This product is very sturdy and works just as described. I have been very happy with every product. I have bought with total Jim, easy to use, easy to set up, practical and made very well. This has been a nice addition to my total gym workouts, giving me an aerobic component that I needed. Takes five minutes to set up and fits very well on the bottom of the total gym and you don’t need to take it on and off. You can just leave it there put your board in front of it and do your other exercises, take your board off and use the cyclotrainer. Could not be easier.

Poor Machining
I purchased the manual cyclo trainer 2 attachment. The machining on the holes for the screws are horrendous. It friggen took forever to maneuver each screw the tiniest bit at a time, in order to get both all the way in, in for step one. The rest was fairly easy, but the first step took 2 hours. (Yes, I’ve assembled MANY things over the years with zero issues) This is absurd when they’ve been selling this attachment for many YEARS and should have manufacturing perfected by now. Also, you’d think they’d match the color for the newer yellow model. It’s only stickers (blue vs yellow), and I’m sure it wouldn’t break the bank. I cannot attest to how well it works yet (now that it’s finally assembled), because of a surgery. Hate to give only 3 starts but your poor machining and being cheap with the color match is ruining your rep with me. May update later…

Can you use it sitting in a regular chair

What happens after 6 months and it breaks down?
1. Call Total Gym first. It may be a simple, inexpensive fix. They may be able to help you repair it with a new part, etc. They are very helpful with troubleshooting and advice.
2. Send it to Total Gym for repair, which of course will require round-trip shipping and repair costs.
3. Beyond warranty, if it can’t be repaired, in the US it’s simply one more sad addition to the landfills, unless you think of something artistic or creative to do with it. Or give it to a kid who loves to tinker… this is reality.
4. Congratulate yourself; at least you used a piece of exercise equipment enough to wear it out. The average American can’t make that boast. If you wear the machine out after 6 months, it joins the club called “They Sure Don’t Make Stuff the Way They Used To.”

What is the difference between the cyclo trainer and the cyclo trainer 2?
Cost, cyclo trainer 2 has less bells and whistles and is therefore less expensive. It functions well as I use it 5 times a week.
